Joe Rogan

The Joe Rogan Experience is a long-form interview podcast hosted by comedian Joe Rogan, launched in December 2009 and currently distributed by Spotify. The show describes its own format plainly: more than two thousand episodes averaging two to three hours each, with guests drawn from standup comedy, athletics, writing, art, and science. The format is its whole argument. It is usually one guest, a couple of unhurried hours, and no obligation to land anywhere in particular, which is why a regular listener keeps meeting ideas they would never have thought to search for. It is a working example of how useful ideas actually travel, sideways through a long conversation rather than straight down a reading list, and of what gets surfaced in hour two that an interview optimized for clips would never reach.
